My challenge in writing these posts is to see my own system and its inhabitants through an outsider’s lens and try to make sense of it. Hopefully, this will be useful. A few years ago, the EUASA conducted a survey of study abroad resident practitioners about their work and their challenges. Operating with very small teams, too little time, and too little money, the disconnect between on-site teams and students’ sending institutions were clear issues for these practitioners.

Finally, the point that stuck out to me the most was, “no time or money for professional development”. How can we help these professionals connect with the American campus context and culture?
